Macadamia nuts contain 78 per cent monounsaturated fats and are high in protein, calcium, potassium, manganese and thiamin.
Macadamias are also low in sodium and sugar and contain a significant range of vitamins. Recent research into the effect of including macadamias in the diet demonstrated significant improvement in markers for oxidative stress, clotting tendancy and inflamation. Macadamias were also shown to be beneficial for those with high cholesterol levels and blood fats. Macadamias are also very high in dietry fibre.
